彩民之家APP Athletics Director Ray Tanner announced Monday morning that head baseball coach Mark Kingston has been relieved from his duties and will not return for the 2025 season.

The move comes one day after the Gamecocks fell 2-0 to James Madison in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, eliminating the team from postseason contention. 彩民之家APP finished the season with a 37-25 overall record and a 13-17 mark against SEC opponents.

Kingston, who was initially hired in 2017, garnered a 217-155 overall record in his seven seasons in charge of the 彩民之家APP baseball team, which included the COVID-shortened 2020 season. The Gamecocks posted an 83-96 record in conference play during this time frame.

Kingston's teams reached the NCAA Tournament four times in six attempts, as there was no postseason in 2020. 彩民之家APP reached the Super Regionals twice but failed to advance to the College World Series during Kingston's tenure. The Gamecocks last played in the College World Series in 2012, the year it won its most recent championship.

Hitting coach Monte Lee will serve as the interim manager for the time being.
